宋代大儒朱熹曾言：“尽己之谓忠，推己之谓恕”。忠，就是“己欲立而立人，己欲达而达人”；恕，就是“己所不欲，勿施于人”。“忠恕”之道，一进一退，一张一弛，不仅与仁道相通，亦与中庸之道若合符节，是一以贯之的人类之道。

According to Zhu Xi, a great Chinese philosopher during the Song Dynasty, to do what is right for oneself is called loyalty and to think of others is called forgiveness. Loyalty delivers the same message as conveyed in the principle that one must establish oneself before helping others, and forgiveness as in the principle that don't do unto others what you don't want others to do unto you. The philosophy of loyalty and forgiveness, echoed by both the doctrine of kindness and the happy mean, is universal for all human beings.

于国家而言，“忠恕”即己私乃克。中华文明之所以能绵延千年而不绝，正是缘于煌煌先哲的民族文化认同感及至圣先贤的“忠恕”之道。天地本宽，而鄙者自隘。华夏儿女绝不会将自己遭受过的悲惨经历强加给其他国家和民族。

For a country, the philosophy of loyalty and forgiveness means giving up one’s own benefits. That the Chinese civilization has thrived over five thousand years without extinction can be attributed to the culture identity of our philosophers and to the philosophy of loyalty and forgiveness practiced by our ancient sages. The world is vast, but the narrow-minded think it is very limited. The young generations of the Chinese nation will never inflict the sufferings that China experienced itself in the past onto other countries and nations.

于行业而言，“忠恕”即不负人、不损人、不害人。环保因“利他”而“自利”，须臾不可偏离“忠恕”这一核心伦理体系。坤厚载物，德合无疆。唯有依循厚德载物之精神，推己及物，将自身生存、发展之意愿置于自然万物上，才能为子孙后代留下江山如画之美好家园，而非疮痍满目之颓然山河。

For an industry, the philosophy of loyalty and forgiveness means not to fail, belittle and harm others. Enterprises in the environmental protection industry realize their development by doing good to others, and they should never for a moment deviate from the core philosophy of loyalty and forgiveness. The receptive in its riches carries all things; its nature is in harmony with the boundless. Only with such an accommodating spirit and by prioritizing the survival of beings over the development of the industry can we leave a beautiful home of green mountains and clear water rather than a home of severe pollution to our future generations.

于企业而言，“忠恕”既要有知人之智，更要有自知之明。凡是技术不过硬、单纯追求商业利益、热衷炒作之行为，均与“忠恕”理念背道而驰，而与心理学“投射效应”如出一辙。恕的精神是推己及人，折射效应是以己度人。置身环保行业，我们不可避免地会被行业普遍性所折射和同质化。唯有恪守本心、坚守正念，方能固本强基，行稳致远。

For a company, the philosophy of loyalty and forgiveness means the wisdom of understanding both others and oneself. Any behavior that lacks professionalism, pursues only business interests and seeks flamboyant fame will disobey with the philosophy of loyalty and forgiveness, which can be interpreted as the “projection effect” in psychology. The spirit of forgiveness lies in putting yourself in others’ shoes while the “projection effect” is making unjustified speculations about others based on one’s own circumstances. In the environmental protection industry, we unavoidably will be affected by some general but unreasonable rules of the industry. Only by sticking to our original inspiration and integrity can we solidify our foundations and achieve long-term development.

于洪流之中，观万千世界。历经三十年之风雨兼程，高能环境能够坚韧成长，无非是秉持“忠恕”之道，立下长远志，行好当下事。我们万万坚守这“忠恕”之道，以《高能环境约法》为指引，决绝地做一个有道德伦理底线的企业，于极艰苦、极孤独之中，克服磨难，以屹立于天壤间！

In this rapidly changing world that keeps developing, the reason why BGE has demonstrated resilience over the past thirty years is that we stick to the philosophy of loyalty and forgiveness, set long-term goals and take concrete actions.
